Finance to buy a plot or build your own home.
Plot and land loans finance the purchase of residential land, and construction loans finance building a home on it. Central Bank rules treat loans for buying or developing land for a home as mortgage loans. During construction, the bank releases money in stages as building milestones are confirmed, after your own contribution has been paid.
Fewer banks finance plots and self-builds than ready homes, and their requirements vary a lot. We find the lenders that fit your plot, your plans and your budget.

Land and construction finance explained.
- Land purchase. Some banks lend against the plot itself, usually with lower limits than for a finished home.
- Stage payments. Construction finance is released in stages tied to building milestones.
- Independent checks. Milestones must be confirmed by the bank or an independent qualified professional.
- Your share first. Your own contribution is used to pay the contractor before the bank releases loan money.
- Gifted land. For land gifted to UAE nationals, banks need confirmation of the gift and from the land department.
